The Inventors Fair

The Inventors Fair

The Inventors Fair was an eclectic mix of old world charm and modern flair. Carnival stalls and marquees of all shapes, sizes and colours were crammed into a bustling market at the base of the volcano. It had the noise and vibrancy of the most spectacular Mardi Gras.

People of all ages jostled from one attraction to the next, all breathless children once more. The air was alive with bangs and pops, mechanical roars competed with the whine of electric engines. There were clouds of sweet, coloured smoke, shrieks of laughter and cries of amazement all around the youngsters. The Inventors Fair was everything Sam imagined and more.

And, at the centre of the maelstrom, facing off across the courtyard and rising high above the crowd, stood two mighty statues, their lances down and visors lowered, preparing to charge.
